Cybersecurity Specialist Jr – Enterprise Customer Outreach/Training/Help Desk

Responsibilities

  • Component outreach identifies and recommends focus areas for Component One-on-One sessions, Cyber Symposiums, Trainings, and Compliance Work Group Meetings. The focus is on new DHS information security processes and how those processes are being implemented within the DHS HQ components.
  • Outreach will use an assistance visit perspective by providing input and recommendations rather than by taking an audit perspective
  • Develop customer surveys to assess services, products, and customer engagement
  • Review customer surveys and input to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Assist federal staff with coordinating and hosting customer engagement events, assist federal staff with maintaining and improving the customer community and service portal
  • Assist federal staff with creating and maintaining the cybersecurity services catalog for CISOD
  • Develop training materials to support and reinforce cybersecurity knowledge and process
  • Maintain and develop computer-based training to support cybersecurity tools and process training
  • Maintain Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and repository for support articles and whitepapers
  • Identify, document, and communicate potential problem areas, issues, and concerns to HQ components based on FISMA
  • Solicit topic areas from HQ components to provide hands-on training
  • Attend the Cybersecurity Working Groups, meetings, and discussions and provide feedback and ideas for improvement
  • Develop unique cybersecurity training materials and resources to guide HQ components in regard to processes, changes, documentation, and understanding of responsibilities. This can be provided in-person, online, or on a training platform like PALMs or FedVTE
  • Develop training for users across HQ components based on the new changes recommended by the DHS Management for this Fiscal Year (FY)
  • Provide weekly/monthly reports, meeting minutes, user feedback, and propose process improvements accordingly to the Project Manager/Subject Matter Expert.
  • Provide weekly reports to Federal Lead on the DR reviews conducted and issues resolved or outstanding. Provide System Health Reports when requested
  • Provide customer service support to respond to DHS Help Desk tickets that pertain to DR and SA-related activities. Develop unique OA training materials and resources to provide guidance to Information System Security Officers regarding processes, understanding, and of OA responsibilities

Certifications

  • At least one of the following:
    • CISSP
    • CAP
    • CompTIA Security+

Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Must have an active Secret security clearance
  • Must have 2 years of relevant work experience
  • The Contractor must be able to provide support in Enterprise Customer Outreach, Training, and Help Desk
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently

Location

  • This position requires the candidate to come on-site to the facility twice a week (Tuesday & Thursday), and work can be done remotely. The main facility is located in the National Capital Region within the DC Metropolitan area.

Salary

  • Salary is based on the number of years of relevant work experience the candidate has.
